OUR HISTORY

     The beginnings of PSAA reach back to 1945, with only one teacher in an old grange hall. By 1957 the school added the 9th and 10th grades, officially making it a junior high school. After 20 years of operating as a junior high school, a grassroots group of parents had a dream to provide a Christian Adventist day academy for Seattle and the surrounding areas. After two years of research, prayer and countless meetings with board members from 25 churches and the Day Academy Committee, their dream became reality—the Washington Conference Board of Education voted 17-1, approving the formation of a new day academy.
     In 1997, PSAA was officially born, with 9th-11th grades. In May of 1998, the school graduated its first class of 12th graders. During the 1999-2000 school year, PSAA underwent a full self-study accreditation and received the maximum four-year term of accreditation.
     Since its early beginnings, PSAA has continued to grow and better its program and is well known for the community that surrounds it.

CONTITUENT CHURCHES

PSAA is supported through the dedication and ongoing commitment of the following area churches:  24-Seven Ministry Center, Bellevue SDA Church, Bellevue Central Spanish Church, Eastside SDA Fellowship, Edmonds SDA Fellowship, Emerald City Community SDA Church, Everett Indonesian SDA Church, Forest Park SDA Church, Kirkland SDA Church, Marysville SDA Church, Monroe Adventist Church, North Creek Christian Fellowship SDA Church, Russian Center for Spiritual Enrichment and Startup SDA Church.
 
Along with vital financial support, each of these churches provides individuals that are dedicated to Christian Education to serve as members of the PSAA Board.

SCHOOL BOARD

The board of PSAA functions as its operating board and is elected according to the PSAA Constitution and Bylaws. Members of the board meet regularly to discuss matters of policy, planning and the financial standing of PSAA.

 

PSAA is blessed by the strong support of not only our families and excellent staff but through the dedication of its board and supporting churches.
