Sharks Devour Competition at the Fall Classic
Meet the 2008 Yearbook Staff
Bible Camp 2008 |
Sharks Take First
By: Tosh Jones
On October 9, the soccer team competed in the annual Fall Classic at Walla Walla University. Sixteen teams came this year to compete for three days, during which time, two to three games may be played a day.
For the Sharks, the first game was against a rival team, The Auburn Falcons. At half time this game was tied with a score of one goal to one. The second half was not as easily matched. The Sharks scored four more goals, ending the game with a score of five to one. However the loss did not eliminate the Falcons, as the first three games are placement games to determine the playoff bracket.

The next two games were against Fraiser Valley and Mile High Academy. The sharks went on to win both of these games, putting them into the quarter finals against Parkview. The Sharks were determined to get to the Championship game and did not allow any goals while scoring three. The Sharks moved onto the Semifinals to meet Milo. |
2008 Yearbook
By: Kayla Page, Iveta Bezman, and Kierron de’ Brown
Where is the one place where all of your high school memories are locked away, stored in one spot where you can look back and reminisce? Your yearbook, of course,
and this year we have a wonderful yearbook staff that will make this year’s yearbook one to be remembered. The staff includes Hannah Lim, Anastasia Bokov, Adriana Arjona, Shanthan Kathireson, Anna Nizovtseva, Kierron de’ Brown, Derek Dizon, JiaQian Ji, and Kayla Page as the Yearbook Editor. The first deadline is already well under way with staff working on spreads such as freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior mug shots. All of the extra senior spreads are also under way as well as the future JSB. “So far everyone is doing great and the spreads are looking good,” says Editor Kayla Page. The yearbook should turn out to be a smashing success and everyone looks forward to receiving one at the end of the year, but most of all they look forward to tracking down the yearbook photographers in order to insure their spot in the yearbook with some crazy pose or wacky smile. However, everyone should remember that the goal of the yearbook staff is to get everyone in the yearbook at least three times. So don’t worry, students, you’ll be in there doing the things you love at the school you love to go to.

Milo was a worthy opponent, keeping the charging Sharks scoreless in the first half. The second half began and passed, and the score was still zero, zero. In the resulting Penalty Shoot Out, the Sharks knocked in four out of the five. Now it was Milo’s turn for their chance to win. Alex Hutton, the goalie for the Sharks blocked two shots, giving the Sharks the win, and moving them into the Championship game.

The Championship game, to much surprise, was against the Auburn Falcons; a second show down. With the temperature approaching freezing, the game started. The game was once again tied in the first half. Second half ended with still no goals. The game went to another Penalty Shoot Out. The sharks scored three out of the five kicks. Now it was the Falcons turn to kick: two went in and the third was blocked by Alex Hutton. Suddenly, the crowd stormed the field celebrating the win for the Sharks, mistaking the missed shot for the final one. Once they realized that the Falcons had one more kick, the referees cleared everyone off the field for the last shot. The shot did not go in and the PSAA storm once again came, flooding the field, and celebrated the real victory!

Bible Camp is a conference put on by NPUC (North Pacific Union Conference) every year. It is located at MiVoden youth camp in Idaho and Camp Berachah in Auburn on alternating years. Each year roughly 12 students have the opportunity to attend this conference. There, students are able to listen to various guest speakers and musicians, and meet students from other schools in our conference. Bible camp is a highly spiritual experience in which attendees grow closer to God and have the opportunity to meet other youth from their school and other schools as well.
This year's conference will be at Camp Berachah from Thursday October 23 through Saturday October 25. Seniors make up the majority of members participating this year, many of which have gone before. They are all anticipating a fabulous time of fellowship and great spiritual growth.
